Bring a little Halloween fun to your kitchen with this Ghostly Margherita Pizza. Made on our Blue Carbon Steel Pizza Sheet, it delivers the perfect crisp crust and even bake—no pizza stone required. The recipe is simple: roll out your dough, add marinara sauce, and top it with mozzarella “ghosts” made using a cookie cutter and decorated with sesame seed eyes. A few minutes in the oven and you’ll have a festive, family-friendly pizza that’s equal parts spooky and delicious. Perfect for parties, movie nights, or an easy fall dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 ball pizza dough (can use homemade or store-bought)

  • Marinara sauce of choice

  • Olive oil

  • Sliced mozzarella cheese

  • Black sesame seeds, for the eyes and mouth

  • Fresh basil leaves, for garnish

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 425F.

  2. Roll out the pizza dough, rolling the edges (similar to a pie crust, see reference video).

  3. Poke holes in the bottom of the dough with a fork, then brush with olive oil. Add a layer of sauce, then slide into the oven and bake for about 10 minutes.

  4. Meanwhile, use a cookie cutter to cut the mozzarella into ghost shapes. Press the sesame seeds into the cheese to make eyes and a mouth.

  5. Remove the pizza from the oven, add the cheese, and place back in the oven for 1-2 minutes, until the cheese is slightly melted but hasn't lost its shape.

  6. Garnish with fresh basil and enjoy.
