How to Season a Mineral B PRO Pan

How to Season a Mineral B PRO Carbon Steel Pan - Oven Method
1. Wash the pan
Clean your pan with hot, soapy water to remove the protective bee’s wax coating.
Tip: Wash it as you would any regular dish. If a small amount of bee’s wax remains, don’t worry! It will burn off during the seasoning process.
2. Dry thoroughly
Use a cloth or paper towel to dry the pan completely.
Tip: Make sure to fully dry the pan to avoid any rusting.
3. Apply oil
Pour a small amount of high-smoke-point oil (such as grapeseed, canola, or sunflower) onto a paper towel
Tip: Use any of these oils you already have!
4. Rub in the oil
Spread the oil evenly over the entire surface of the pan, including the bottom and sides.
Tip: The oil layer should be very thin and even. Excess oil can create sticky spots instead of a smooth seasoning.
5. Bake the pan
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the pan upside down on the oven rack and bake for 1 hour.
Tip: You may place a baking sheet or foil on the lower rack to catch any drips.
6. Cool and finish
After 1 hour, turn off the oven and let the pan cool completely inside the oven or on a heat-safe surface.
Tip: Use caution when handling. The pan will be extremely hot.
